Become an Intandem Mentor

Online Information Sessions (May–June)

Intandem is inviting anyone interested in mentoring a young person with experience of the care system to join one of our informal online information sessions taking place throughout May and June.

These relaxed Zoom drop‑in sessions are a chance to find out what mentoring with Intandem really involves. Whether you can spare five minutes or stay for the full hour, you’re very welcome to pop in, meet the team, and ask any questions — big or small.

Each session covers the same content, so you only need to attend one date that suits you. However, you are welcome to attend as many as you like, such as in the event of needing to drop out of a session unexpectedly.

The sessions will take place on:

What to expect

Debbie Zima, Intandem Fund Manager, said:

“We’ll share what to expect as an Intandem mentor, the difference mentoring can make for children, young people and families across Scotland, and the training, support and community you’ll be part of. There’s no pressure to sign up on the night — the session is open to anyone who’s curious and wants to learn more.

“If you’re thinking about using your time and experience to make a positive difference, this is the perfect place to start.”

About Intandem mentoring

Mentors are paired with a young person who has experience of the care system, or who is at risk of care. Most children and young people we support are living at home, or with family and friends in kinship care.

Mentoring typically begins when a young person is aged between 7 and 15, and continues for as long as it is needed. Delivered through partner charities, Intandem currently operates across 21 local authority areas in Scotland.
