Join our Youth Forum

If you’ve been mentored by intandem – or are currently being mentored – join our youth forum, InVoice.

InVoice is open to all young people from S1 upwards who have experience of intandem mentoring. It’s a small, friendly group that meets every 6 weeks or so, bringing together young people from across Scotland, both in person and online.

Moving on from care into adulthood image

InVoice is more than just a group; it’s an opportunity to influence the future of intandem, have your voice heard by decision-makers about the care system, and build confidence as you take on leadership roles.

InVoice has two groups:

  1. Young people currently mentored and/or supported by their intandem coordinator (S1 and up)
  2. Young people previously mentored and keen to use their experience to influence change (S4 and up)

When we meet in person, we always do a fun activity chosen by the group – things like escape rooms, trampolining, indoor rock climbing, and even a weekend residential trip! We also always have a meeting to discuss ongoing projects and what we’d like to work on.

Our projects are decided by the group, and in the past we’ve:

  • Organised events for all young people mentored by intandem to give the opportunity to meet new people and make friends
  • Attended the Who Cares? Scotland Love Rally as an introduction to activism
  • Taken over intandem’s social media accounts and learned all about social media
  • Contributed to Scottish Government public consultations on issues that matter to young people experiencing the 'care system'
  • Written blogs about our experiences

In 2025, we’re very excited to be making a film — an amazing opportunity to get creative and develop new skills along the way. The Scottish Government have also asked if we'd like to share our opinions as they develop a Care Leavers Payments so we're keen to have our voices heard.

We’d love for you to get involved!

If you are interested speak to your intandem coordinator or contact Christine on enquiries@inspiringscotland.org.uk.

Invoice has helped me try new experiences, learn new activities, and meet new people. I look forward to what activities we will be doing in the future!

Invoice is a really good group because it lets young people get together and talk freely. It gives young people who may not have the best homelife and who don't get to go out much, the opportunity to hang out with people around their own age and take part in fun activities that they don't always get the chance to do, and it gets them out of their comfort zone and allows them to learn new things. InVoice meetings and events give young people something fun and exciting to look forward to.

InVoice is awesome and I would always recommend young people to join, it is the best decision I have ever made! I have made new friends, improved my confidence, and I have been involved in important discussions that have been taken to government – it’s an amazing experience.
