About
Move On offers a range of services providing advice, training, guidance and support enabling vulnerable young people and those affected by homelessness to unlock their potential and achieve a range of positive outcomes.
Locations
Support for intandem volunteers and mentees is from our office in Central Edinburgh, but training sessions take place in various locations in East, West and Midlothian. We also have premises in Glasgow.
Aims
intandem aims to support children and young people aged 8-14 years who are looked after at home through the provision of a regular mentoring relationship. A mentor offers a young person a positive role model and makes the importance of a supportive adult relationship real for them. Additionally, mentoring can connect a young person to the opportunities available to them in the community and provide an opportunity to practice the skills of building positive relationships. The aim is that mentoring helps the young person to find further opportunities and form other supportive relationships in the informal way that most of us take for granted.
