About
Action for Children has delivered services in Scotland for over 60 years. Our work directly supports the Scottish Government’s priority to tackle inequalities in line with the GIRFEC approach. We focus on the most vulnerable young people, amongst the most disadvantaged in society, including those looked after at home.
Locations
intandem aims to provide a Highland-wide service, dependent on the availability of trained mentors.
Aims
Our key objectives/aims and activities wholly reflect the purpose/priorities of the Intandem Mentoring Programme which will implement goal orientated support to LAC young people through a relationship-based approach. This reflects our work which intensively supports children and young people living in Scotland to improve their life chances through engagement with education/training/employment, developing pro-social skills and instilling positive attitudes/behaviour.
We are ambitious for young people, helping to develop their skills and capacity/resilience to create positive futures. Our activities aim to address inequalities and raise attainment/aspirations amongst disadvantaged children/young people. We achieve this by increasing skills, providing resilience and ensuring access to positive opportunities for all.
We support disadvantaged and socially excluded children/young people to become successful/achieving adults through a broad range of services including:
●Employability and skills programmes
●Leaving care services
●Youth justice services
●Intensive family support
●Residential services
●Young carers
●Disability services
